Lunch Buffet Adventure at Café Tosca – Freshly Made Dishes, Maison Kayser Bread & DIY Parfait!

all you can eat

Hi, I’m Aya!
This time, I visited Café Tosca, located inside Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, directly connected to Minatomirai Station.

The hotel lobby is designed with the concept of “magma flowing from the earth,” which creates an impressive atmosphere the moment you step inside.

The restaurant itself is very spacious, with high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light—perfect for lunchtime.
I chose the weekday all-you-can-stay plan that allows you to enjoy lunch from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Only five tables per day are available for this plan, and the box seats make it feel private and relaxing.

One of the biggest highlights of Café Tosca is its live kitchen!
Here are my five favorite points from this visit:

1, Freshly Prepared Dishes at the Live Kitchen

The restaurant’s signature carbonara is prepared in a wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese—an indulgent treat.
The rich flavor lingers in your mouth and makes you smile.

The roast beef pairs beautifully with the refreshing yuzu pepper sauce, which adds just the right amount of kick.

Their omurice (omelet rice) comes with a rich onion demi-glace sauce that matches perfectly with the creamy egg.

And don’t miss the crispy vegetable fritters—a simple sprinkle of salt really brings out the natural sweetness of the vegetables.

2, Meat, Seafood, and Seasonal Vegetables Worthy of the Spotlight

The main dishes are impressive, too.
You’ll find dishes like fish acqua pazza, roast chicken with orange mustard sauce, and pork slowly simmered in demi-glace sauce—all full of flavor.

The chicken skin is wonderfully crispy, while the meat stays juicy inside.
The green asparagus fritters were especially fresh and flavorful—truly a highlight of the meal.

3, Two Curries to Compare

The onion curry has a deep, rich sweetness from the caramelized onions, followed by a pleasant spicy kick.
The tomato coconut curry offers a perfect balance of tomato’s tanginess and coconut’s creamy sweetness—making it fun to compare the two.

4, Unlimited Maison Kayser Bread

A whole array of bread from the famous bakery Maison Kayser is available.
Croissants, edamame ciabatta, and orange campagne are just a few of the many varieties.
Reheat them in the toaster for extra deliciousness, and enjoy them with butter, jam, or natural honey.

5, Create-Your-Own Mini Parfait

End your meal with a visit to the DIY parfait station.
There are plenty of ice creams and toppings so you can create your own custom parfait.

There’s also a selection of adorable desserts like chestnut mousse, peach shortcake, and pear tart.
My personal favorite was the chiffon cake—its fluffy texture and light cream were simply delightful.

Drinks
The drink selection is excellent, with many types of tea, hot coffee, and soft drinks available.

Final Thoughts

Café Tosca’s lunch buffet strikes the perfect balance between a luxurious hotel experience and a casual, relaxed atmosphere.
The live kitchen where you can enjoy freshly made dishes is a real highlight.

If you go on a weekday, the all-you-can-stay plan lets you enjoy lunch at your own pace, making it perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family.
